Drum Filters for Aquaculture
The Innovasea drum filter is a mechanical, self-cleaning microscreen filter designed for high-performance water treatment systems, such as recirculating aquaculture systems (RAS) or intake and effluent treatment applications. They are manufactured by NP Innovation, which has reinvented drum filter design over the last 30 years to make them more effective, energy efficient and durable – delivering the high filtration required by modern RAS facilities.

Energy Efficient Drum Filtration
- Innovative drum design lowers energy costs
- Larger filter area captures more solids at a faster rate
- Corrosion-proof chain minimizes maintenance costs
- Moving spray bar cleans better while reducing water consumption
- Modular components improve operating reliability
- Offered in a wide range of sizes for complete versatility

Innovative Rotary Drum Filter Design
Drum filters use gravity to remove suspended particles through a unified set of filter screens. The trapped particles are then rinsed off by backwash spray nozzles, with the contaminated water directed into a collection tank.
What makes the Innovasea drum filters unique is that they rotate as the water level rises inside the drum, maximizing the filtration capacity and keeping the drum working effectively.

Drum Filter Model Types
Innovasea offers four drum filter models to choose from, each in a range of sizes:
- Fiberglass tank (500 mm and 800 mm only)
- Freestanding steel tank
- Stainless steel frame
- Stainless steel frame with level tank

Disc Filters for Aquaculture
For some sites, the Innovasea disc filter may be the better option. Adapted from industrial and municipal applications, the disc filter was specifically designed to handle the higher demands and flow rates of large industrial RAS facilities.
