Acoustic Release Solutions

Easily recover valuable instruments from the sea floor without sending down a diver.

Acoustic release devices are used by fish researchers and others tracking fish behavior to easily recover valuable underwater instrumentation from the sea floor remotely. This includes equipment like acoustic telemetry receivers and hydrophones. Acoustic release devices are especially useful in locations where diving is difficult or dangerous.

Ascent Acoustic Release

Ascent Acoustic Release

The Ascent™ Acoustic Release provides quick and reliable remote recovery for marine instruments and environmental sensing equipment located in shallow water. Designed for superior performance and reliability, the Ascent is equipped with an easy-to-use interface to a surface deck box that ensures successful retrieval of marine instruments every time.

It’s available in two models – the AR and the AR-2 depending on battery life required.

ARC Acoustic Release Canister

ARC Acoustic Release Canister

The ARC acoustic release canister is designed specifically for use with the VR2AR fish tracking acoustic release (AR) receiver and the Ascent AR. When the acoustic release is activated, the ARC brings the equipment to the surface while leaving a rope attached to the anchor for easy recovery of all seabed mooring infrastructure.

ARC is available in three models based on retrieval rope length.
